 Advanced Analytics – Big Data (MASTER’S DEGREE)


​The second-cycle studies in Advanced Analytics – Big Data at the SGH Warsaw School of Economics provide advanced knowledge and competencies in the area of the extraction and analysis of data from variety of sources.

The graduate of the programme can be employed as a specialist in advanced data analysis in manufacturing companies, banks, insurance and telecommunications companies, public administration and research centres specializing in advanced data analytics. The studies also prepare students to conduct research and to take up third-cycle studies.

Mode of study: full-time 

Duration: 2 years (4 semesters)




The graduate of the second-cycle studies in the field of Advanced Analytics – Big Data at the SGH Warsaw School of Economics:


  • has knowledge in the area of computer science regarding acquiring, clearing, storing and processing of structured and unstructured data,
  • knows how to extract information from complex data structures and to represent them in computer systems,
  • has knowledge regarding mathematical, statistical and computer methods and techniques of data analysis required in social and economic problem-solving, 

[skills:] ​


  • is able to extract data from a variety of sources including databases, text files, multimedia files, social networks, sensor data, geolocation data,
  • is able to query SQL and non-SQL databases alike prepare data for analysis, build models for data analysis using a variety of mathematical, statistical and computer science tools and formulate hypotheses and opinions using the models, 
  • is able to design representation research and conduct statistical analysis used in studying econom​​​ic processes and phenomena as well as to analyse multidimensional data and apply the methods of multidimensional analysis in business and economic analyses,

  • understands and uses the quantitative approach to describe economic processes, social interactions and business issues, 
  • is aware of the performed professional and social role, specifically in areas using mathematics, statistics, econometrics and computer tools, 
  • sets benchmarks for professional ethics.

The application and admissions procedure has the following stages: 
  1. registration in the online system 
  2. submission of required documents 
  3. end of submission of documents period 
  4. verification of documents by SGH 
  5. issuing decisions on admission 
  6. information about registration for classes sent by Master Dean's Office (in the registration system)
