 ADMISSIONS STEP BY STEP

 

​In order to successfully complete the admission process at SGH, please read the following step-by-step guide.

1. Internet Registration System

To start your application to SGH, you should: 

  • create an account in the Internet Registration System and fill in the required forms, in particular: basic personal data, contact data, general information about your diploma;
  • upload a photo of yourself suitable for identity documents – we will use it for your student ID card;
  • pay an application fee (85 PLN) to the individual bank account number of provided in the Internet Registration System;
  • choose the modes and programmes of study you are interested in and do not forget to arrange them according to your preferences. 

Please check your account regularly for important announcements.

You may modify most of the data until the end of the registration period (unmodifiable data is marked with a padlock icon). The last day of registration ​is also your deadline for paying the application fee. 

Please note that if you wish to study at SGH, do not delay your application after you have defended your thesis! Even if your thesis defence is scheduled for July or early August, you should register in the Internet Registration System as soon as possible – you will be required to provide the diploma (or a certificate of completion od studies) only once you are qualified for admission.


2. Qualification procedure

Admissions to studies in Polish

Qualification criteria for full-time studies in Polish – admission on terms applicable to SGH alumni

In the case of admission on terms applicable for SGH alumni, the qualifying procedure is based on the grade average (accurate to two decimal places) This admission mode can be chosen by the applicant only one time and is available only to: 

  • current SGH students, who have accumulated at least 150 ECTS points and, simultaneously, obtained at least 3.5 grade average from subjects passed in the course of the completed semesters of studies;
  • graduates of the first-cycle studies at SGH, who have obtained at least 3.5 grade average in the course of studies and received a professional title of bachelor from SGH Warsaw School of Economics between 1 October 2020 and 23 June 2021.

At the stage of registration, SGH students must choose between the two admission modes available as simultaneous application based on both modes is not allowed. In case of being qualified to studies, applicants who chose admission on terms applicable for SGH alumni are required to submit the diploma of graduating the first cycle degree studies at SGH Warsaw School of Economics, the average from which constituted basis for qualification.

Qualification criteria for full-time studies in Polish – general admission

The remaining applicants to full-time studies in Polish are required to take the entrance exam that constitutes the sole basis for qualification in this admission mode. The exam is aims to verify one’s knowledge in economics and economics-related linguistic competence (the language to be tested in the exam is declared by each applicant in the Internet Registration System). The exam comprises three modules, two of which are obligatory to every applicant (depending on the associated programme).

Qualification criteria for part-time studies in Polish (afternoon and weekend modes) as well as for full-time studies in English

The qualifying procedure for part-time second-cycle studies in Polish (afternoon and weekend modes) as well as for full-time second-cycle studies in English at SGH is based on the review of submitted documents. If the number of applicants exceeds the admission limit specified in the Rector’s Order, admission is decided based on the order of applications determined by date and hour (accurate to a second) of the registration in the application form for first cycle studies in the Internet Registration System. Furthermore, the applicant to studies in English is also required to submit a document confirming the knowledge of English at least at B2 CEFR level. The list of recognised documents is specified in the Appendix to the Resolution no. 741 of the Senate of SGH Warsaw School of Economics of 24 June 2020.

3. Document submission

After you are qualified for admission, you will receive an invitation to submit your documents to SGH within the deadline specified in the admission schedule for the given round.

Qualified candidates are required to submit:

- the application form and the agreement on terms of payment for educational services - through ISR (with a qualified electronic signature) or directly to SGH;

- admission documents that are the basis of admission, including, in particular, a diploma of higher education - only directly to SGH.

Candidates who have started their admission on the basis of diploma of graduating the first cycle studies at SGH obtained after 1 October 2019 are exempt from the obligation to submit their SGH diploma. In this case, we particularily encourage you to submit the application form and the agreement on terms of payment for educational services through the ISR.

The set of required documents must be submitted no later than 3 p.m., official time in the territory of the Republic of Poland on the last day of the specified deadline.​

4. Additional admission rounds

Applicants who have not been qualified for any of their study preferences or have been qualified for a study preference other than their highest one have the right to declare their intention to participate in the next admission round by clicking the button “I want to participate in the next admission round.” There are no additional fees associated with such declaration.  

Applicants who have not been qualified for any of their study preferences and wish to participate in the next admission round, providing it is launched, should declare their intention through the Internet Registration System. Applicants who forgo their right to declare participation in the next admission round will be issued a decision on rejection of admission. 

Applicants who have been qualified for a study preference other than their highest one should submit their documents within the period specified in the admission schedule. Those who wish to participate in the next admission round, providing it is launched, should also declare their intention through the Internet Registration System. Failure to submit documents within the specified period will be considered tantamount to resignation from the admission process, resulting in issuing a decision on rejection of admission, regardless of the declaration made in the Internet Registration System. Applicants who are not qualified for one of the higher study preferences in the additional admission round, will remain on the list of persons admitted to the programme or form of study, for which they submitted their documents. The applicants qualified for a higher study preference will be automatically moved to the relevant study programme.  

The deadline for declaring one’s intention to participate in the next admission round is 3:00 p.m. on the last that of the given document submission period. 

The decision on launching an additional admission round is made by the University Admissions Committee, providing that the admission limit has not been reached as a result of the completed round of document verification. The UAC may launch no more than two rounds of additional qualification in the main admission procedurea and no more than one additional round in the supplementary admissions.
